Terra del Sol

Thirty-seven suites are contained in this eight-storey tower that was built in 1981 and condo converted in 1994. From a distance the building's distinctive sloping blue metal roof is visible and you wouldn't know that it houses lots of roomy storage lockers as well as mechanical services. Blue sheet metal also highlights the main wall of each suite's inset balcony.

Everyone Terra del Sol parks indoors in assigned common-property stalls. The heated garage has one in-ground level plus one at-grade level that lies behind the two north-facing main-floor suites and the lobby. A few top-floor suites are allocated a second parking stall. The building is clad in large-format brick that has had repairs done, so it should provide a long-lasting and low-maintenance exterior. The building undertook a variety of maintenance and new-boiler projects in 2005 and 2006. There's one elevator and five suites per floor after the two on the ground floor.

Suites here start at 606 square feet, but there's only one that small. Most of the one-bedroom homes are about 670 square feet. The more common two-bedroom suites range from just over 800 to 850 square feet. All suites that I've seen have in-suite laundry, but there's also a laundry room off the lobby. There are no fireplaces, and the building has no amenities.

Exterior windows and doors at Terra del Sol are common property for maintenance and future replacement. I have the Condo Plan on file.
