Renoir Suites site proposal

2010 update: Project cancelled and the old President Apartments renovated as rental suites.

This condo high-rise project was proposed in 2007 to be about 33 storeys tall, and to incorporate the old three-story 1920s-built President apartment building that sits at this corner. The development was to see the old building moved onto Seventh Street for a year or longer, then moved back after the tower was built above and half over top of it; now there's an engineering challenge!

If it proceeds, the new tower would be high-end, incorporating a swimming pool on the fourth floor, with a patio out over top of the old building. The President would likely come back to life as office space, and might house the Beltline Community Association. This site sits kitty-corner to Xenex, and is a stone's throw from the Beltline Safeway store.
