Nuvo Studio Condos (now a tiny hotel)

Sales simply didn't happen in this former 1961-built concrete rooming house, transformed in 2008 into a small building of 29 or so tiny but modern and cute studio suites of which only four have parking.  After failed efforts to sell such small condo suites in 2008 as the market hit bottom, the developer gave up and the building operates in 2010 as a small--a very small !--hotel.  The buildings four stalls are tucked under the back of the building with rollshutter-style garage doors and a low ceiling; watch your head!

During the building's refurbishment entire slabs of concrete wall were cut away to create larger windows and to modernize the look of what used to be a barren box; ' an impressive job!  Inside there are now polished concrete floors, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances including in-suite laundries, wall-mounted TVs, Murphy beds and even built-in coffee makers.  With only 328 square feet in some suites every square inch counts!  More than half the suites ("rooms"?) have a balcony.
