Midtown aka Encore tower, formerly Gateway Midtown

2011 update: Gateway Midtown is no more, as plans for residential development are shelved and the site is to become a mid-rise office project.

Pointe of View became involved in this two-tower 650-suite project following the bankruptsy in 2009 of Resiance Corporation ('had previously built the successful Gateway Shawnessy, Gateway Garrison Woods, Gateway Marda Loop, and Gateway Garrison Green). But late in 2010 the project was again put on hold and up for sale. The original plan was for two towers, the west one of 26 floors and the east tower of 30 floors. Pointe of View's effort was focused on the west building, to be named Encore Midtown, and not to be confused with Encore at Westgate Park by another developer. The in-ground garage has been completed and one floor of the podium concrete is in place, so an investor could at least complete stores at grade and rent out parking stalls.

Suites in both towers were to offer nine-foot-high ceilings, air conditioning and a full appliance package including laundry equipment, and every suite to come with a titled parking stall. The focus here was intended to be on compact homes in a walk-to-work location at affordable prices. The towers were---and may still, some day---rise from a broader three-storey podium with ground-floor retail and two floors of live-work suites topped off with roof-top garden areas. Some two-level live-work suites would allow for an office and living space, access to conference rooms, and have dedicated visitor parking.

I have on file original marketing materials and floor plans. 'Stay tuned!
