Named for Seventeenth Avenue, or for its 17 floors; you decide. Privately-owned Grosvenor International investment and development company started construction late in 2011 on this 17-storey and 135-suite condo tower with studio suites at entry-level prices with an option to not have a parking stall...entirely do-able with this walk-to-everything location. In the spring of 2012 excavation was wrapping up and tower construction was about to start.

To make these homes affordable they start with studio suites of 398 and 452 square feet. One-bedroom suites are 527 or 538 square feet, and those with a den are 721 or 743 square feet and these are corner-set with TWO balconies; 'nice. Two-bedroom suites are also on the building's corners and measure 807 square feet. Finishings are high-end and include in-suite laundry. A basement storage locker can be bought while the supply lasts. The building will have a common room with lounge and small kitchen, so there will be an on-site place to hold the annual general meetings and special events.

Projected completion for Drake Condos is in the fall of 2013. Exterior windows and doors at Drake17 will be common property for maintenance and replacement. The Condo Plan will be registered upon completion. I have the floor plans on file.
