Connaught
Built as a condominium building in 1982, this seven-storey concrete tower is noteable for its lack of balconies. Don't think that the residents are deprived, though, as there's a roof-top deck that's large enough to accommodate the residents of all 24 suites at once.... plus their friends. The building floorplate has jogs so that even the smaller one-bedroom east-facing suites have a "corner" window, and the one-bedroom homes at the front of the building have the same small corner windows for light from three directions. The top-floor suites each have a solarium-like window projection. All that light doesn't make residents here too warm, though, as the building has central air conditioning, with that expense rolled into the condo fees. They also roll full-tier cablevision into the monthly condo contributions, so if the fee seems a little high keep that packaged service in mind.
There are four suites per floor here, but none on the ground floor, and they all have an unusual shape, with several having angled walls or plans that widen toward the exterior walls and windows. The floor areas are either 616, 635, 748 or 856 square feet, with no changes floor-to-floor. The larger suites were allocated the heated indoor assigned parking, while others park around back in assigned surface stalls that are partially covered by the building's overhang. The building has a single elevator. All suites I've seen have full-sized laundry machines. Exterior windows and doors are common property. I have the Condo Plan on file.
