Cambridge Gate

If you don't mind living on four levels these 10 townhouses each offer 1,356 square feet of finished space, plus detached garages off the alley. Some have the basement level finished as a 350-square-foot bachelor suite; 'good for a student son or daughter, or as a mortgage helper.

The main and second floors are just 365 square feet each, with the third floor offering 250 square feet plus a 77 square-foot roof-top deck. Each suite has a tiny balcony off the second floor. It's nice that each home has three full bathrooms and two bedrooms above grade plus the basement space usually used as a third bedroom or a den.

These homes are built "back to back", so there's light from only one direction, namely south if the home faces the avenue, and north if it's onto the parking and the alley. The bay-windows design lets in as much light as possible. These were built as condominium homes in 1993, so were never rentals. The exterior windows and doors at Cambridge Gate are common property. I have the Condo Plan on file.
